[Competition Closed] MHM June Quiz – win a D-Day clicker

1 min read

This issue, we’re giving away three engraved replica clickers, courtesy of ACME.

Clickers were a vital piece of survival equipment for paratroopers ahead of the D-Day landings of 6 June 1944. Used by the 101st Airborne Division, they enabled paratroopers to test whether nearby movements were generated by friend or foe.

This month, ACME Whistles, the company that was involved in the manufacture of thousands of original clickers used during the Second World War, is giving away three clickers, personally engraved with your name.

The Acme Clicker 470-Polished Brass is made of solid brass, with a high-quality steel spring. Loud and reliable, it is still made with the original tooling and presses that were used 75 years ago. Find out more about the ACME D-Day clickers here: www.acmewhistles.co.uk/lost-clickers-of-dday

  1. The question “Which type of bird is commonly depicted on the insignia of the 101st Airborne Division?” above is asking for a number which I do not believe is the answer

  2. I was born on the 29th May 1944 along with my twin brother saving my Dad going off to Normandy in France.
