It is 1942. In a country house hotel on the edge of an R.A.F. Bomber Command airfield, a young pilot, his actress wife and a Hollywood film star find themselves at the centre of a passionate conflict of love and loyalty as unpredictable as the war in the skies.
Flare Path is based on Rattigan’s own Bomber Command experiences when he served as a tail gunner during the Second World War. This is the first major production to open the 2011 Rattigan Centenary celebrations.
